Karina O’Brien joined our firm in February of 2014. While at Kostner, Koslo & Brovold, LLC, Karina has represented a wide array of clients in various matters, including both litigation and transactional matters.
In particular, Karina has assisted numerous clients in divorces, paternity actions, and guardianships. Karina also has served as guardian ad litem in family actions and guardianship matters. Karina has represented financial institutions and other clients with regard to collection and mortgage foreclosure actions.
Karina also has experience in estate planning and assisting clients in preparing wills, trusts, Health Care Power of Attorney and Durable Power of Attorney documents. She has assisted clients on personal and commercial real estate transactions, including preparing and reviewing purchase agreements, lease agreements, and closing documents.
In 2013, Karina interned with the La Crosse County District Attorney’s office, where she first chaired two (2) jury trials and one (1) bench trial. Karina also worked as a law student in the Remington Center, helping incarcerated clients with a wide variety of civil issues. From 2009 to 2011, Karina gained legal experience and expertise as a paralegal and office manager at an immigration law firm in Minneapolis, MN.
In 2016, Karina was appointed as a Trempealeau County court commissioner.
Born and raised in Arcadia, Karina loves working in her hometown. She is an active member of the Arcadia community. Karina enjoys traveling, downhill skiing, camping, biking, deer hunting, and of course, spending time with her family.
