Terrence J. Madden

Terry Madden has been practicing with our firm since early 1992, after having received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison. His practice concentrates on municipal law, real estate, business and commercial law, estate planning (with emphasis on Medical Assistance planning), and trademark law. He has given presentations on Medical Assistance planning to the Tri-County Bar Association and to various local business and social groups. He has also made presentations on Medical Assistance planning and the history of the Trempealeau County Courthouse at Trempealeau County Law Day events. He served on the Board of Directors for Western Wisconsin Legal Services.

Terry has represented numerous municipalities for more than 15 years, advising municipal boards, reviewing and drafting contracts, preparing and reviewing ordinances, and representing municipalities in court. He has advised clients on personal and commercial real estate transactions, including preparing and reviewing purchase agreements, lease agreements, and closing documents, and advising on tax consequences of such transactions. Terry has represented businesses in contract negotiations, preparation, revision, execution, and implementation. He has prepared numerous Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney, and trust documents. He prosecutes trademark registration applications on behalf of corporate clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and assists clients in policing the use of their marks, including securing agreements from infringers to cease and desist, and prosecuting several successful domain name disputes to protect registered trademarks.

Terry earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison and spent a year studying at the University of Warwick, in Coventry, England, as part of an exchange program.

Terry is married and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, camping, biking, golf, baseball, and is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
